About Boom Crew
Our Story
Founded in 2023, the Big Blue Boom Crew is a high school rocketry team that competes in the American Rocketry Challenge (ARC). We are made up of students from Phillips Academy Andover and represent the nonprofit Brickyard Collaborative Inc at competitions. In our very first year as a team, we placed in the top 6% of the ARC nationally.
Our Work
For their first year as a team, the Big Blue Boom Crew has made incredible accomplishments. We constructed two ammonium perchlorate powered rockets from scratch and conducted both simulation and field based testing. We placed in the top 10% of rocketry teams from around the United States, earning us a spot at nationals at ARC. Over this past year we have learned a lot about the art of rocketry and cannot wait to keep going next year.
